Knowing what brought you here doesn't necessarily help you choose what to do first.
Buying equipment raises much the same question. Being able to afford it today doesn't tell me what it'll cost over the time I intend to use it.
The number matters. It just isn't measuring whether I've chosen a suitable mob, how often I'm healing or how much MU I paid for the equipment I'm using up.
The loot happened. What it doesn't tell you on its own is how the whole activity went.
Moving beyond memory didn't give every run an explanation. It meant I didn't have to invent one each time.
